For the most part, we are the product of our environment.
Currently, our environment is creating a severe energy imbalance which is represented by enlarged adipose concentrations. The implications are not fair and shaming is an unfortunate byproduct that should be strongly discouraged.
I’ve been thinking about the future a lot as it relates to health and fitness.
Here are three of my predictions for the century and millennium.
1. Future wars will be fought over water scarcity.
Fresh water is going to become an extremely limited resource considering how fast the ice is melting. The snow and ice simply aren’t being replaced fast enough to accommodate for the melting. To make matters worse, many current freshwater sources will become contaminated by saltwater and people will suffer.
2. As fitness becomes scarce in the population, the value will rise higher.
I make a statement about the socio-economic perceptions of status as it relates to fitness here. The unfortunate fact that general fitness is decreasing while morbidity is on the rise illustrates inequality between those who can afford a fitness lifestyle and those who age faster from a lifetime of poor nourishment.
3. There will be a population recession.
Human history has been exploding lately and recent population growth is sparking so many new ideas and contributions into 2020 and beyond.
Unfortunately, we know from so many examples in nature: that which grows, also recedes. For what reasons will population plateau and eventually go down? Many natural events will devastate families and communities and I don’t feel pleased writing this.
Even worse, there will be fights over borders and people will die as the landscapes change under our very feet. Only a handful of generations down the line and the world will be a very different place. Generation Z has every right to be interested in the place they inherit.
Opportunities to heal and to love must be taken today.
Knowing that our death impends, it can give the courage to love today. I want to let go of ego even though I become aware of thoughts that I might just take to the grave with me.
Can I accept healing? Can you?
Only if we are ready to do one thing…
Keep asking.
